The PAN Card is an identifying card required by the Income Tax Department for all taxpayers whose taxable income exceeds the basic exemption limit. It consists of a ten-digit alphanumeric number that is unique to each assessee. Every taxpayer is required to have a PAN Card. Knowing your Pan Card
The “Know Your PAN” mechanism is meant to serve the taxpayer by giving necessary PAN Card information. An assessee can use your PAN to obtain the following information:
General information, such as gender and place of residence
PAN number based on name and date of birth
PAN card status

Procedure
As a PAN cardholder, you will be able to verify your basic information as follows:
Step 1: Go to the income-tax department’s official website.
Step 2: Select the “Register yourself” option.
Step 3: Select a user type from the drop-down menu and click “Continue.”
Step 4: Provide your basic information.
Step 5: Press the “Submit” button.
Step 6: You will receive an activation link in your e-mail account, similar to a subscriber confirmation page for other services. By clicking on this link, you will be able to activate your account.

Step 2: Navigate to “Profile Settings.”
Step 3: Go to “My Account.”
Your information will now be shown with the following details:
- PAN number
- Name of Assessee
- Date of Birth

- Address of Assessee
- Your PAN Card number.
- Your first name.
- Your middle name.
- Your surname.
- Jurisdiction.
- The Card’s active or inactive status.
